What is an SR&ED Project?
In layman's terms, an SR&ED project is a collection of related activities required to overcome scientific or technological uncertainties you encounter that will result in technological advancements for the company. 1. The project’s success or failure is not a factor in determining its eligibility.
2. Your SR&ED project is NOT EQUAL to your internal project, product or process being developed.
a. It could be a subset of your commercial project.
b. It could reach across several internal projects.
c. The project must be TECHNOLOGY based.
4. Ultimately, your project is about the experimental process used to resolve scientific or technological problems, and what you learn as a result.
